Found in the back of a restaurant… obviously, used (up).

This photo was taken back in May during one of my bike rides.  I have finally mastered Aperture well enough to fix the problems created by the bright AZ sun.  All adjustments were done manually (no presets). Continue reading »

I know that Red & Blue is not a theme that we’ve been given, but for some reason I saw these two images on my random photo walk / bike ride this morning… forty minutes apart.  Kind of strange, huh? Doesn’t two make a theme?

ISO 80; f/2.8; 1/500; 7.7mm (Canon Powershot SD950 IS)

I mostly followed Doris’ instructions on how to make a frame…  Since I used a black frame and the blog currently has a black background, you should enlarge if you really want to see it.

Post processing consisted of cropping, adding vibrancy to the rasberries and removing some of the saturation from the greenery, and added some vignette.  All that was done in Aperture.  I then sent it to PSE to be framed.

These berries were found on “Blueberry Hill.”

I found this outfit last January during the peak of the shows — during my first photowalk.  It didn’t quite fit any of the themes (or me)… but I’m glad since I think I’ve learned a few tricks and seen some good ideas about post-processing that I didn’t know in January.

In Aperture, I burned and gave definition to the glitter, saturated the red and yellow hues, desaturated the blue hues. Considering this photo was taken mid-day (I was such a amateur back then!), I’m pleased the way the photo came out.

My favorite part of the photo… when I took it and still now… is the sign for plus sizes right next to this skimpy little outfit!  Talk about a fantasy!

ISO 80; f/5.6; 1/329; 43.3mm; 8:13am (on ladder, no tripod, P-mode)

I dragged the ladder over to the Saguaro again today… Obviously, this plant is still tall… even with the ladder I am still looking up!  I waited quite a while for a bird to show up… but I guess me being on a ladder wasn’t part of the fine dining experience they had been expecting.

This is a close-up photo of a cactus with the morning sun shining through it and then in post-processing the levels were adjusted to remove the green and blue.  The cactus was pretty, but ordinary. I guess I felt like having fun. Besides… green was so June.
