We drove down to Algodones, Mexico this past Monday to have my teeth cleaned. First time doing this.  While waiting for the next dentist/hygenist, I decided to use my iPod Touch as a camera rather than read my book.  This woman had just had a procedure done and her husband is examining the work.  He had told me a few minutes before she came out that he’d been using this dentist for 5 years.  I liked the way she wanted the assurance that all was o.k. and he was giving it to her.

As I’ve mentioned before, Holiday Palms RV Park (where I live) is in the process of connecting to the town sewer.  For the last week or so, at the end of the day I have been photographing the sewer pipes as they are laid in the ditches (the camera of original designated photographer broke).  This is an effort to document what’s there before it is buried.  Naturally I see this as an opportunity to gather some of my own photos as well.  Such as this one.

This is a color photo (ISO 250 f/2.8 1/20 taken at 7pm, so low light), cropped and coverted to black and white with the exposure set really high to give it the 1960s photo look.

This is my neighbor, Mark Mich.  He is 89-years old and drove down from Minnesota in his new white truck towing a new custom trailer, alone.  He spends most of the day sitting in this chair, in this position soaking up the sun, alone.  He is not unfriendly, but just feels that after being a farmer all his life, he deserves the chance to sit down and certainly feels no pressure to participate in any social activities.  Sometimes I think he is the most sane person in this whole RV park. Oh, and he never married, thus he’s always been alone.
