Happiness Is…. a ride in the desert in a Pinzagauer with a crazy driver who makes it feel like a roller coaster.  That’s me, screaming with joy on our December desert ride.

Processed in both Aperture and Topaz Adjust Buz Sim.  (Happiness is also having great photo software to play with.)

This lemon meringue pie was brought into this Monday’s bake sale fresh out of the oven.  It was sold in minutes of arriving.

I used Topaz Topaz ReMask to “cut” the photo out and Adobe Photoshop 6 to add the shadow.

Having only moved to Arizona 2 years ago, it is still a thrill to see fruit on the trees when I know it is snowing (or will soon be snowing) back “home.”

ISO 80; f/3.2; 1/10; 7mm (Canon SX10, no tripod)  (Above photo is a cropped version of the first one posted… Deena had a good point about the left side of the image being distracting.)

On yesterday’s photo walk (yes, I actually went on one finally)… I was taking photos of different textures and colors in hopes of using them in future creative exercises with photoshop.  I thought this one had merit all on its own.  So much texture!

I first ran it through Topaz deJpeg and then through Topaz Adust – Photo Pop, with an adjustment to detail. back in Aperture, I increased the yellow hue.

ISO 800; f/5.8; 1/40; 28.5mm (Canon Powershot SD 950 IS)

I ran this through Topaz deNoise and thought that it did a really nice job of cleaning up this “poor” photo.  Topaz Adjust Venice Painting further softened the image to give this nostalgic “golden” look.

“Tangled in Up in Blue”

Processed in Topaz Adjust and Aperture

Found this wrapped up ball twigs, rope and some kind of rubber belt while walking through the wash this afternoon.

The above is second attempt at improving this photo.  I’m not sure why I’m so intent on posting this… at about this point, I don’t think I even like it!   But, it has been a good photo for trying out the Topaz bundle and Topaz InFocus.  For the above, I cropped it, ran it through deNoise and then InFocus… and then cleaned up the photo a bit in Aperture. And it still looks OOF.

Still in November themes… I took this with this theme in mind… just didn’t get around to posting it!

I tried using the Topaz ReMask to show the whole plate and the placement with leaves… but this proved to be more difficult because of the shadow around the edge of the plate.  So I decided to try a different approach… by cropping it, which I decided I liked better than the whole plate.

I am also experimenting with Topaz InFocus and am finding that program is more difficult to use as well.  I think I ran this photo through deNoise more than twice… but not sure.  I also used Apertures brushes to paint in detail on the leaves… and touch up to get rid of the some of the ceramic plate flaws.  Anyway, if I sound vague, it is because I started this same photo from scratch about 5 times trying different things.

How did it get to be December 1?   I’m still in November themes!

Stopped for hot cocoa after our desert golf game.  A chilly breeze yesterday…. but a fun game.

This was processed in Topaz Adjust – Smooth and Flat and used the Aperture Burn brush to highlight the Thank You words.

ISO 125; f/2.4; 1/30 (iPod Touch)

Cropped  and then processed withTopaz deJpeg, Topaz Adjust/Simplify  and Topaz deNoise

We drove down to Algodones, Mexico this past Monday to have my teeth cleaned. First time doing this.  While waiting for the next dentist/hygenist, I decided to use my iPod Touch as a camera rather than read my book.  This woman had just had a procedure done and her husband is examining the work.  He had told me a few minutes before she came out that he’d been using this dentist for 5 years.  I liked the way she wanted the assurance that all was o.k. and he was giving it to her.

ISO 80; f5.8; 1/320; 28.5mm  (Canon Powershot SD950 IS)

This was processed with the Topaz products (deJpeg and deNoise), most specifically Topaz Adjust- HDR POP.  Until I ran it through this filter, the interior was dark and unseen.

This is from our desert ride last Thursday.  The vehicle is a a Pinzgauzer.  The park owns a few of these and takes residents out for a free ride once a month during the high season.  FUN!
